Olga hard at work

Olga Lampcov discovered her passion for cake in June 2009 after she decided to bake her first cake for her son Ehren's third birthday. Having never heard of fondant she set out to create her first masterpiece...Thomas the Tank Engine. As her new hobby gained the attention of friends and family the requests started pouring in and Olga's Creations was born.

Olga was born in the former Soviet Union, the daughter of two doctors, she spent most of her childhood in Kazakhstan until moving to Moscow to attend University. After graduating with an Engineering degree Olga immigrated to the U.S. in 1996 and settled in Baltimore. There she learned English and pursued a career in computer programming. In 2004 she relocated to Detroit with her new husband and daughter.

In June 2009 Olga, motivated by the reaction to Thomas, she started pushing her creativity further with each new cake. In January of 2010 armed with an arsenal of incredible recipes, some fantastic references, a growing portfolio of work, and a new retail storefront in Berkley, MI Olga's Creations was ready to officially burst onto the scene providing Detroit with the most unique and imaginative designs created around a delicious variety of cake and filling combinations.

In September of 2011 we moved to our new location in West Bloomfield where Olga was able to expand her offerings from cakes and cupcakes to include cookies, brownies, bars, coffee, in a 1600 sq ft contemporary cafe' setting all her own. With the new location came more attention and a bit of confusion with local restaurant chain "Olga's Kitchen". With so many customers confusing us for being a part of Olga's Kitchen it became necessary change our name and "Baked Impressions" was born.
